Polo SA and Plastics SA join forces to clean-up rivers and beaches Johannesburg, 17 November 2021. Polo SA has been a brand known and loved by South Africans for many years. In 2020 Polo SA launched their Naturally Polo initiative focusing on sustainability and a more eco-conscious approach not only to fashion but to the broader environment in which we live, work and play. This year, the Polo SA team was not afraid to get their hands and clothes dirty as they partnered with Plastics SA to help remove litter from our country’s rivers and beaches as part of the annual Clean-Up and Recycle SA week and World Clean-up Day 2021.

In addition to rolling up their sleeves by participating in the river clean-up of the Jukskei River in Alexandra, Johannesburg, Polo SA also generously donated funds towards the branded yellow refuse bags used to collect the waste, as well as 400 Polo golf shirts for the clean-up coordinators.

Douw Steyn, Sustainability Director at Plastics SA, applauded and thanked Polo SA for their involvement and commitment in making this year’s Clean-Up & Recycle SA week a success. “We need more corporates such as Polo who are willing to put their money where their mouths are. The only way we are going to beat the country’s waste crisis and create a better, cleaner country for future generations is by working together, joining hands and pooling our resources, talents and passions.”
